City CASA
City CASA is Voices for Children’s Court Appointed Special Advocate® program. City CASA is an accredited member of the National CASA Association and one of over 1,000 CASA programs nationwide.
City CASA advocates are sworn officers of the court charged with advocating for the best interests of child victims of abuse and neglect. They ensure that the child – the person with the most to gain or lose and typically the least power in a care and protection court proceeding – has a powerful voice. A voice in critical decisions that will impact his or her life immediately and long into the future.
Today, there are nearly 1,000 children in St. Louis city foster care. Our City CASA advocates speak on behalf of over 350 of these children – many more are waiting for a CASA advocate.
Voices matches each City CASA advocate with a skilled child advocacy attorney, maximizing the difference each volunteer can make.
While working toward a safe, permanent home, Voices’ teams of advocates expedite vital health, mental health and education services for each child they represent.
